In that sense, the present article aims to examine the theoretical perspective that social sciences have of the migratory phenomenon. This analysis helps to understand the characteristics of migration, as well as its effects. This work is composed of four parts. In the first one, we approach the study of migration from the disciplines within the social sciences; in the second, we analyze the integrated perspective for the study of migrations; in the third, we analyze the dimensions and repercussions of migration in social life; and finally, in the las part, we provide some reflections on the implications of the theory of complexity in the multidisciplinary study of migration to arrive at the necessity for a perspective that can develop a social science of migrationsEl fenómeno de la migración es una de las problemáticas sociales con mayor impacto en el mundo y altera las dinámicas sociales, políticas y económicas de las sociedades a las que pertenecen los migrantes, debido al desplazamiento desde su lugar de origen hacia otros destinos (dentro de las fronteras nacionales o fuera de ellas) y, a las que llegan los migrantes. Esta situación es estudiada desde diversas perspectivas y, por lo mismo, se encuentra en debate permanente. Nuestro análisis parte de la idea de que la migración debe ser estudiada desde una perspectiva amplia y no desde una sola disciplina. En tal sentido, el presente artículo tiene como objetivo examinar el enfoque teórico del fenómeno de la migración desde de las ciencias sociales. Este análisis nos ayuda a conocer las características de la migración y sus efectos en la vida (en las ciudades de origen, como en las ciudades de destino migratorio). Así, este trabajo consta de cuatro partes.
