Chronic, slowly, mismatch, leading to disorders, more or less severe, or the "erythremia Heights" or "disease of the Andes", and known as the "disease Monge".En el estudio de esa interesante entidad nosológica que se llama el "soroche", ha pasado ya la etapa de observación y descripción fisiológica y clínica, que fuera tan certeramente trazada por el profesor Monge y sus colaboradores en las dos formas de dicho mal : La aguda, hasta entonces la única conocida, o sea el "mal de montañas", o "soroche" propiamente dicho, que no es sino un desequilibrio, desadaptación o falla de los mecanismos compensadores del organismo, determinado por un cambio brusco de las condiciones naturales de la vida en el llano, al pasar a una atmósfera enrarecida de la altura.
