The relevant literature is scarce and this has led us to undertake a comprehensive study in patients admitted to the Gastroenterology Service of the Hospital Obrero de Lima . Studies on intestinal biopsy in ulcer patients who have been subjected to different types of operation : gastrectomy, vagotomy and pyloroplasty , but none in patients with antrectomy and truncal vagotomy . It is this circumstance which gives originality to this work, so the study of Ia digestive capacity of the patient and the other with a remote monitoring post-operative data is added . We do not intend to judge the advantages and disadvantages of certain types of operation; We have just finalized the search for intestinal disorders . For this purpose we have studied 15 patients of the Hospital Obrero de Lima , with the sponsorship of the School of Medicine and the San Fernando Hospital address.El propósito de este trabajo es estudiar las posibles alteraciones morfológicas y funcionales del intestino delgado en pacientes sometidos a Antrectomía y Vagotomía por úlcera duodenal. La literatura médica pertinente es escasa y esto nos han llevado a realizar un estudio completo en pacientes internados en el Servicio de Gastroenterología del Hospital Obrero de Lima. Hay estudios acerca de la biopsia intestinal en pacientes ulcerosos que han sido sometidos a diferentes tipos de operación: gastrectomía, vagotomía y piloroplastía, pero ninguno en enfermos con antrectomía y vagotomía troncular. Es Esta circunstancia la que le da originalidad al presente trabajo, a lo que se suma el estudio de Ia capacidad digestiva del paciente y otros datos relacionados con un control alejado post-operatorio. No es nuestra intención juzgar las ventajas y desventajas de determinado tipo de operación; sólo nos hemos concretado a la búsqueda de alteraciones intestinales.
