The estimation of this colonial work, whose analysis we wanted to make a contribution to the National Anatomy, grows even when you think that the author was not a "physical" of the time, even a poor student of anatomy, but a makeshift devotee of sculpture.Como se puede apreciar por la inspección del original, así como por las reproducciones fotográficas adjuntas, D. BALTAZAR edificó un cráneo que llenaba casi completamente todas las exigencias anatomo-artísticas. "El cráneo que, como dice DUVAL, debe ser estudiado por el artista no solamente bajo el punto de vista de las formas exteriores, sino como objeto que figura a menudo a titulo de accesorio en una composición", había sido bien conocido y dominado por GAVILAN como tema de su obra.
