An important fact is the Chinese settler, who settled near the market place in which to develop their daily lives and offered their products, not knowing that on that place, will be located in Chinatown today.En el presente texto, se analiza los antecedentes previos a la construcción del antiguo Mercado de La Concepción, hoy actual Mercado Central de Lima “Ramón Castilla”. Utilizando diarios de la época, podemos narrar como se desarrolló la vida diaria del primer mercado limeño, quienes habitaban y quienes eran sus personajes, como transcurría el día, que se ofrecía y como se daba la cotidianeidad.
