Accordingly, in this Article, will be the subject of our review, with due brevity: I, the history of our assistance alienated; II, the culture of psychiatry in Peru; III, the population of sick mind from Lima and the rest of the country; IV, mental health in Peru; and V, the situation and the problems that this offers for assistance, and prophylaxis study of psychic disturbances.El estudio de los desórdenes mentales y el cuidado de quienes los padecen no tienen en nuestro país el desarrollo que corresponde a su importancia. No han faltado, empero, loables empeños y realizaciones apreciables, dignos de atención por su misma rareza. Todo lo hecho se localiza en Lima. De modo que tratar de la psiquiatría en Lima es tratar de la psiquiatría en el Perú. Cabe, sin embargo, separar y comparar la aportación de la Capital en lo que respecta al sujeto psiquiátrico, al enfermo.
