A brief description of each chewing lice and discussion about their hosts and distribution were done.En el presente estudio se da a conocer doce especies de malófagos colectados en aves mantenidas en cautiverio de manera temporal o permanente en el Perú. Cuatro malófagos Amblycera: Colpocephalum turbinatum, Psittacobrosus amazonicus, Psittacobrosus burmeisteri y Kurodaia sp., así como ocho malófagos Ischnocera: Neopsittaconirmus gracilis, Paragoniocotes fulvofasciatus, Paragoniocotes mirabilis, Paragoniocotes nanus, Paragoniocotes neivai, Paragoniocotes pyrrhurae, Philoceanus amadoni y Quadraceps burhinoides, fueron identificados mediante el diagnóstico morfológico.
