The results indicate that in the past six months, 35% of people have been victims of any unlawful act, being theft crime the most common type . Also, 74% of people who have suffered some type of crime, have not filed a complaint before the National Police of Peru (PNP), arguing as the main reason that the PNP is doing nothing about it.El presente estudio se llevó a cabo en el distrito de San Juan de Miraflores con el propósito principal de obtener información confiable sobre «percepción de inseguridad y victimización» de los ciudadanos. El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal. El diseño de la muestra es probabilístico, trietápico, donde la unidad de última etapa es el individuo cuya edad está entre los 16 a 65 años. Los resultados obtenidos señalan que en los últimos seis meses, el 35% de las personas han sido víctimas de algún hecho delictivo, y el tipo de delito más común fue el hurto.
