En este artículo se presenta una síntesis del estado de la cuestión de las principales investigaciones cognitivas, en relación con textos periodísticos enfocados en las emisiones metafóricas en el campo del fútbol nacional e internacional. Esta revisión se presenta con la finalidad de determinar y contrastar aquellas áreas ya avanzadas de aquellas que aún están por dilucidar, como herramientas que permitan delimitar e identificar variables claves en la perspectiva teórica de una nueva línea de investigación lingüística en el entorno del fútbol peruano.
