In order to provide some contribution to the study carried out by Professor Monge on human life in the Andean highlands, we started in July 1930, a 7 hour train to the mining center Casapalca place located 4146 meters (13621 feet) above sea level. Barometric Pressure 460 M. M. Our object was to observe the salient changes in the upper respiratory tract, ear and vestibular reactions could experience the acclimatized man of the Andes or the one suffering from erythremia Heights Monge's Disease. Also, try to study these changes in the man who moves from sea level at that point, so we could not meet but very imperfectly because they suffered from the evil of our companions mountains.
