It facilitates knowing the cause and effect between the variables environmental costs and solid waste management. It is an empirical investigation because it is an event that has been presented in the institution and applied because an alternative solution is proposed to face the problem. Results: Stratified sampling was used, a Spearm's Rho correlation of 926 was obtained. Conclusions: there is a positive, strong and direct correlation between the variables: environmental costs and solid waste management in the General Hospitals of the city of Loja.Objetivo: Determinar cómo impactan los costos ambientales en la gestión de desechos sólidos en los hospitales generales de la ciudad de Loja. Método: enfoque cuantitativo, en base a análisis y procedimientos estadísticos, con razonamiento deductivo que permitieron alcanzar un resultado, la investigación tiene un alcance correlacional, facilita conocer causa y efecto entre las variables costos ambientales y gestión de desechos sólidos. Es una investigación empírica debido a que es un suceso que se ha presentado en la institución y aplicada porque se propone una alternativa de solución para enfrentar el problema Resultados: Se utilizó el muestreo estratificado, se obtuvo una correlación Rho de Spearm ,926. Conclusión: existe una correlación positiva, fuerte y directa entre las variables: costos ambientales y gestión de desechos sólidos en los Hospitales Generales de la ciudad de Loja.
