It is a structuralist vision that validates the organization of the discourse: the story that the story tells in the novel. We do not pay attention to the structure, but to the evolution of the story, narrative segment after narrative segment. We call this content unit thus, narrative segment, to emphasize that it is an entity of measurable nature, as an expression of content, despite being only substance, not form.Este artículo trata sobre el segmento narrativo en la novela de Miguel Gutiérrez La violencia del tiempo (LVT), de cómo este organiza el discurso narrativo; de cómo, a través de él, el significado y el sentido discurren libremente en la sucesión de los capítulos, organizados cada uno en dos partes. Es una visión estructuralista que valida la organización del discurso: la historia que el relato va contando en la novela. No prestamos atención a la estructura, sino al devenir de la historia, segmento narrativo tras segmento narrativo.
