Descripción
Sumario:This article presents the procedure that involves the geotechnical-seismic microzonation of the districts of La Perla and San Miguel. These districts are highly exposed to an event similar to the earthquake that occurred in 1746 (Lima), which caused significant loss of life and economic losses. The selection of these districts was due to the variability of the surface materials and the amount of available data. The methodology used by CISMID was used, which involves the collection of geological, geotechnical and geophysical information, the execution of geophysical tests, the processing of the information and the preparation of the seismic microzonation map. In addition, the analysis of wave propagation in deep profiles was considered to estimate the motion on the surface. For this last analysis, a probabilistic seismic hazard assessment was previously carried out to estimate the movement at rock. Finally, the isoperiod, Vs30 and geotechnical-seismic microzonation maps were obtained. In the latter, five zones with fundamental periods less than 0.20 s were identified: (a) Zone I: soils with the presence of gravel at shallow depth (3 m) and Vs30 between 450 m/s and 700 m/s, (b) Zone II-A: presence of sandy-silty material (greater than 3 m depth), Vs30 between 350 m/s and 450 m/s, (c) Zone II-B: presence of sandy-silty material with depths greater than 5 m and less than 11 m and Vs30 less than 350 m/s, (d) Zone IV: presence of the Lima cliffs and (e) Zone V: fill material (beach).
