The economic success of President Ollanta Humala's administration will depend a lot on whether these projects can be carried out. I would like to provide some elements of judgment to open the debate, proposing an analytical framework to understand what has been the course of mining development in our country.Es muy oportuno el momento para analizar cuál es el aporte efectivo de la minería al desarrollo sostenible de nuestro país, dado el fuerte grado de conflictividad que existe en algunas operaciones mineras y el surgimiento de grupos antimineros que se oponen, sin mayores argumentos, al desarrollo de una cartera de proyectos de inversión que tiene previsto poner en marcha operaciones por unos 25 mil millones de dólares entre el 2012 y el 2014. El éxito económico de la administración del presidente Ollanta Humala dependerá mucho de que estos proyectos puedan llevarse a cabo.
