Sumario: | Objetive: Explains the antimicrobial effect of Camellia sinesis, which will lead to a higher incidence of carious lesions, found in the literature of the last 5 years. Methods: The research used a Scoping Review-style literature review. It had a quantitative style. A review was carried out in the search engines Medline, PubMed, Science Direct and Cochrane, with the use of a consistency mold that will be the selection tool. Scientific journals written in English are named, published in the years 2018 until October 2023. Results: Encouraging peaks were demonstrated with respect to caries media such as Streptococcus mutans in saliva, demonstrating that compounds from Camellia sinesis or tea green, serves to prevent carious lesions with the diverse device called polyphenols, preventing greater bacterial aggregation, which in the long run is more prevalent at older ages. Conclusion: green tea or Camellia sinensis rinse demonstrated double efficiency for the control of many oral pathogenies, therefore, it became recommended to prevent dental caries to a certain extent, and can also be used as an alternative to rinses such as chlorhexidine, especially because of the advantages that a preparation with plants provides. |
