This notion of ‘brain death’ will be analyzed based on what neurosciences can contribute today regarding the nature and complexity of the brain, and simultaneously, breaking new grounds when attempting to give an answer to this matter.Este artículo intenta aproximarse a la noción de “muerte cerebral” como paradigma para determinar la “muerte clínica”, no como la muerte del cerebro y la supervivencia del cuerpo, sino como el cese de la totalidad de todas las funciones vitales, es decir, la muerte propiamente dicha.
