The research design is non-experimental and based on a cross-sectional descriptive type with a quantitative approach. In addition, the rubric was used to assess the text production in academic papers. The results were that the achievement level of the students from both institutions is in process, regarding the learning standard: write different types of texts. In other words, students have not been able to develop the competence: production of written texts, as expected.El objetivo del estudio fue determinar el nivel de logro de los estudiantes del V ciclo, respecto al estándar de aprendizaje: escribe diversos tipos de textos. Esta investigación consideró como muestra 253 estudiantes de las instituciones educativas públicas Karol Wojtyla y Antonia Moreno de Cáceres. El diseño de investigación es no experimental de tipo descriptivo transversal con un enfoque cuantitativo. Además, se utilizó la rúbrica para evaluar la producción de textos en los trabajos académicos. Los resultados fueron que los estudiantes de ambas instituciones presentan un nivel de logro en proceso, respecto al estándar de aprendizaje: escribe diversos tipos de textos.
