The development of the theological work, both teaching and research, within the originality of Galicia is linked both to the ecclesial and cultural tradition and to theology itself as an academic discipline. Such work shares, to a large extent, the same peculiarities as the rest of the Spanish state and Portugal, with the just disparities of the precise names that support them and the environments in which they are carried out.La presente contribución tiene por fin el acercar al lector a la investigación y a la docencia desarrollada en Galicia dentro del ámbito de la teología. Una ciencia, que presenta una finalidad fundamental, ya que la teología, en sí misma, como disciplina del saber debe auspiciar las relaciones entre la fe y la cultura, para promover una profusión cultural y social que enriquezca a una sociedad en cambio continuo. El desarrollo del cometido teológico, tanto docente como investigador, dentro de la originalidad propia de Galicia, se encuentra vinculado tanto a la tradición eclesial y cultural como a la teología en sí misma como disciplina académica.
