The results were concluding that after applying the Cognitive Restructuring Technique, the levels of depression in patients from the control and experimental group are significantly different, showing in the control group and increase of such levels. Likewise, the application of this technique is effective to diminish the levels of depressionEstudio de tipo cuasi experimental con diseño antes y después. La muestra estuvo conformada por diez pacientes entre los 18 y 60 años, de ambos sexos, que asistieron al programa VIH/SIDA de un centro hospitalario. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Inventario de Depresión de Beck, Ficha de registro de pensamientos automáticos de 3 y 5 columnas y Ficha de actividades semanales, como técnicas se usan: la observación, entrevista y experimentación. Los resultados revelan que después de la aplicación de la Técnica de Reestructuración Cognitiva, los niveles de depresión de los pacientes del grupo control y experimental son diferentes significativamente.
