To determine the criterion validity, first, item-scale correlations were performed, obtaining correlation coefficients that are between .429 and .697. The validity of the construct was assessed by exploratory factor analysis with the maximum likelihood method, obtaining a KMO value of .874. By means of the direct Oblimin rotation technique, 12 factors were found, of which, when doing the second factorization, only two factorswere left, which did not confirm the structure of the test proposed by Cabanach et al. However, the Academic Stressors Scale (ECEA) has adequate psychometric properties that make it possible to recommend its use as an instrument for assessing academic stress. Esta investigación tiene por objeto determinar la validez y confiabilidad de la Escala de Estresores Académicos (ECEA) elaborado por Cabanach et al. (2016). Para ello, se aplicó dicha escala a una muestra de 150 estudiantes universitarios (38 varones y 112 mujeres) de la Universidad Católica de Santa María con un rango de edad de 16 a 32 años. Para determinar la validez de criterio primero se procedió a realizar correlaciones ítem-escala, obteniendo coeficientes de correlación que se ubican entre .429 y .697. Se valoró la validez de constructo por medio del análisis factorial exploratorio con el método de máxima verosimilitud obteniéndose un valor KMO de .874. Mediante la técnica de rotación Oblimin directo se hallaron 12 factores de los cuales al hacer la segunda factorización quedo solo dos factores haciendo que no se confirme estructura de la prueba propuesta por Cabanach et al.
