This article presents the particularities of the disorder and the guidelines to take into account for the application of this method in the process of designing an innovative educational intervention program aimed at Special Basic Education Centers considering technical, didactic and organizational aspects, as well as the proposals for educational inclusion in order to ensure the adaptation of the program both to the environment and to the peculiar diagnosis of the students. The methodology consists of a descriptive analysis based on the review of scientific production related to this type of disability and the application of the video-modeling method.La aplicación del videomodelado en un programa de intervención educativa para desarrollar la autonomía de los estudiantes con trastorno del espectro autista de nivel 3 de severidad (TEA3). Es un elemento a tener en cuenta para el desarrollo efectivode las habilidades sociales básicas, relacionadas con rutinas diarias de autocuidado (aseo e higiene personal, alimentación y vestimenta). Esta es una de las principales áreas afectadas según los criterios de diagnóstico clínico del trastorno del espectroautista en el Manual diagnóstico y estadístico de trastornos mentales-5 (DSM-5) del American Psychiatryc Association. Este artículo plantea las particularidades del trastorno y las pautas a considerar para la aplicación de este método en el procesodel diseño de un programa de intervención educativo innovador dirigido a los Centros de Educación Básica Especial. El artículo considera aspectos técnicos, didácticos y organizacionales, así como las propuestas de la inclusión educativa a fin de asegurarla adaptación del programa tanto al entorno como al diagnóstico peculiar de los estudiantes.
