In other cases, the result of the mobilization was less tangible. In the present article a review of the transcendence and evolution of the so- cial movements of the past is carried out, focusing especially on those that implied the active participation of young people. In the same way, the current social mobilization involving the use of social media is presented. Networ- king is a virtual meeting point between citizens who seek to express their disagreements. In the final part, the study focuses on the case of the move- ment against the so-called Pulpín Law in Peru. Social networks are consider as important as the variables of the context in which the protest is generated.Los movimientos sociales a lo largo de la historia han sido catalizadores de grandes cambios sociales. En algunos casos, sus logros fueron notables consi- guiendo cambios de mayor o menor nivel en las políticas públicas, ampliando derechos sociales, así como la defensa de diversos sectores sociales. En otros casos, el resultado de la movilización fue menos tangible. En el presente artí- culo se realiza un repaso de la trascendencia y evolución de los movimientos sociales del pasado, incidiendo especialmente en aquellos que contaron con la participación activa de jóvenes. De igual manera, se incide en la contemporánea movilización social que involucra el uso de las redes sociales. Éstos funcionan como un punto de encuentro virtual entre ciudadanos que buscan manifestar sus inconformidades. En la parte final, el estudio se centra en particular en el caso del movimiento contra la denominada Ley Pulpín en el Perú.
