This research was motivated by the presence of victims of political violence who currently showsymptoms of post-traumatic stress. The objective was to determine the level of post-traumatic stress disorder in victims who suffered political violence between 1980 and 2000 in the district of Huanta, department of Ayacucho. The sample consisted of 70 adults and older adults of both sexes, aged between 43 and 65 years. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptivecomparative,and the design was non-experimental and cross-sectional. The instrument usedwas the Davidson Trauma Scale, adapted to the Peruvian context. The results showed that 52.9% had significant symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, while 47.1% had no significant symptoms.
