In this sense, the research sought to determine the most frequent diseases treated with medicinal plants by the population of Huamachuco, Sanchez Carrion, La Libertad, Peru. For this purpose, a total of 96 interviews were carried out, using the random sample selection method, taking into account that the inclusion criteria were met at all times. Likewise, the amount of population to be interviewed was chosen, and to obtain: the amount (%) of the inhabitants that use medicinal plants, as well as the types of diseases and/or ailments that burden the population. The results obtained showed that 90% of the population of Huamachuco uses medicinal plants and 10% does not use them. It is concluded that the most frequent diseases treated with medicinal plants are those related to the digestive and gastrointestinal systems, respiratory system and urinary system.Es indiscutible el valor cultural y ancestral adquirido y depositado en las Comunidades Andino- Amazónicas, sobre el correcto uso de las plantas medicinales; el mismo que lamentablemente hoy en día corre el riesgo de desaparecer debido a la globalización. En tal sentido, la investigación buscó determinar las enfermedades más frecuentes tratadas con plantas medicinales por el poblador de Huamachuco, Sánchez Carrión, La Libertad- Perú. Para lo cual se realizaron un total de 96 entrevistas, utilizando el método de selección de la muestra aleatoria, teniendo en cuenta que cumplan en todo momento los criterios de inclusión. Asimismo, se eligió la cantidad de población a entrevistar, y obtener: la cantidad (%) de los habitantes que utiliza plantas medicinales, así como los tipos de enfermedades y/o padecimientos que agobian a la población. En los resultados obtenidos se halló que el 90% de la población de Huamachuco usan plantas medicinales y el 10% no hace uso de las mismas.
