The research was done in order to determine the influence of the guide practices of Epidemiology andPublic Health, Faculty of Obstetrics as a teaching tool for health promotion in pregnant Health Centerof Hope 2014. For the study the type of pre-experimental, prospective, longitudinal research is used,and a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test (one group). We worked with a representativesample of 32 students of the Faculty of Obstetrics - UNHEVAL of Huanuco. Two questionnaires wereused as data collection instrument to assess the practices of Epidemiology and Public Health. Ofwhich, the result was obtained: x2 = 17-6> 3.84 accepting: practical guide Epidemiology and PublicHealth, College of Obstetrics positive influence as a teaching tool in promoting the health of theshelf. Thus conclusions were reached: 65.5% of students tested with a pre-test had no expertisein the diagnosis of maternal health before use practices guide Epidemiology and Public Health.
