A questionnaire of knowledge and attitude scale was used to collect data. The T Student test not related was used for the inferential analysis. Results. After the intervention, major average qualifications of knowledge on care of the environment were reached in the experimental group (14.6 + -2.3) regarding the control group (10.1 + 2.6) and higher average scores were found in attitudes in general towards the conservation of environment in the experimental group (121.9+-28.6) compared to the control group (78.5+8.7). These results were statistically significant (p≤0.000). Conclusions. After the educational intervention major averages qualifications of knowledge and higher scores in attitudes on care of the environment were achieved.Objetivo. Determinar la efectividad de una intervención educativa en conocimientos y actitudes sobre cuidado del medio ambiente. Métodos. Se llevó a cabo un estudio cuasi-experimental con 32 estudiantes de secundaria en el grupo experimental y 32 en el control, procedentes del Colegio Nacional de Aplicación UNHEVAL de Huánuco, durante 2014. En la recolección de datos se utilizó un cuestionario de conocimiento y una escala de actitudes. Para el análisis inferencial se utilizó la Prueba T Student no relacionada. Resultados. Luego de la intervención se alcanzó calificaciones promedios mayores del conocimiento sobre cuidado del medio ambiente en el grupo experimental (14,6+-2,3) respecto al grupo control (10,1+2,6) y se encontró puntuaciones promedios mayores en las actitudes en general hacia la conservación del ambiente en el grupo experimental (121,9+- 28,6) frente al grupo control (78,5+-8,7). Estos resultados fueron estadísticamente significativos (P≤0,000). Conclusiones.
