This study aims to evaluate soil contamination in recreational areas of Maceió( Brazil) and analyze the occurrence of various pathogenic species. A total of 42 soil samples were collected from recreational areas, with 21 from the surface and 21 from depth. Each sample was appropriately labeled, packaged, and transported to the laboratory for analysis. The HPJ (Hoffman, Pons, and Jenner) and Ritchie techniques were utilized to process the samples, followed by microscopic readings stained with Lugol. Of the samples analyzed, 34 were positive (80.95%) with multiparasitism, whose helminths being the most prevalent among the parasites found (74.22%). The study revealed that all recreational locations surveyed were contaminated with both helminths and protozoans. Regarding depth, the surface samples registered more contamination with 18 samples (52.94%) among the positive samples. The most commonly found parasite was Strongyloides stercoralis, with 28.86%. In conclusion, the study suggests that soil samples may serve as a precursor to zoonotic infection, highlighting the need for chemotherapeutic prophylactic measures in soils and the implementation of standardized measures by government bodies.

El suelo desempeña un papel fundamental para mantener la existencia de estructuras durante un prolongado período de tiempo, lo cual posibilita las infecciones. El propósito del presente artículo consistió en evaluar la presencia de estructuras parasitarias en el suelo de las áreas de recreación de Maceió, Brazil, así como realizar un análisis detallado de las especies patogénicas. Un total de 42 muestras del suelo fueran colectadas de las localizaciones de recreación, con 21 de la superficie y 21 de la profundidad. Las muestras fueron separadas, nombradas, guardadas y transportadas para los análisis en el laboratorio.  Haciendo el procesamiento parasitológico por el método de HPJ (Hoffman, Pons y Janner) y el método de Ritchie para posterior observación en lámina coloreada con lugol en microscopio.  De las muestras, 34 (80,95%) fueron positivas, ocurriendo el multiparisitismo, con los helmintos en mayores cuantidades (74,22%). La investigación ha revelado qué todas las ubicaciones de recreación estaban contaminadas con helmintos y protozoarios. Acerca de la profundidad, las muestras de la superficie han estado más contaminadas, con 18 (52,94%) de todas las muestras analizadas. La especie principal encontrada fue Strongyloides stercoralis, con 28,86% de positividad en las muestras. En conclusión, esta investigación ha sugerido que las muestras del suelo sirven como un resumen para la presencia de infecciones zoonóticas, visualizando la necesidad de medicinas profilácticas químicas en el suelo, además, la aplicación de más investigación estandarizada por los organismos públicos.As doenças negligenciadas são um grande problema de saúde pública, afetando a população, mais marginalizada da sociedade, estando entre elas as doenças parasitárias. O solo torna-se um importante mantenedor de sua prevalência ao viabilizar estruturas parasitárias por longos períodos, facilitando infecções. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a presença de estruturas parasitárias em solo de áreas recreativas de Maceió (Brasil) bem como analisar a ocorrência de diferentes espécies patogênicas. Foram coletadas 42 amostras do solo de áreas recreativas, sendo 21 de superfície e 21 de profundidade, devidamente etiquetadas, acondicionadas e transportadas ao laboratório. As amostras foram processadas por meio das técnicas de Hoffman, Pons e Jenner e Ritchie, em seguida de leitura microscópica corada com lugol. Entre as amostras analisadas, 34 (80,95%) foram positivas, nestas observou-se multiparasitismo, sendo os helmintos mais prevalentes com 74,22% de positividade entre os parasitas encontrados. Todas as localidades recreativas pesquisadas estavam contaminadas tanto com helmintos quanto protozoários. Em relação às profundidades contaminadas, as amostras de superfície comportaram a maior contaminação, com 18 (52,94%) amostras positivas dentre os exemplares contaminados. O principal parasita encontrado fora Strongyloides stercoralis com 28,86% de positividade frente às amostras analisadas.
