Adult beetles were collected in the populated center of 'San Graciano' in the Aucallama district, Huaral, Peru. After verifying the viability of the conidia, four treatments with B. bassiana were applied, designated as T1, T2, T3, and T4, each with a concentration of 1 x 10⁷ conidia·mL-1, 2 x 10⁷ conidia·mL-1, 3 x 10⁷ conidia·mL-1, and 4 x 10⁸ conidia·mL-1, respectively. The dead beetles were incubated for 21 days to promote mycelial growth and confirm whether the cause of mortality was attributable to B. bassiana. The results indicated that all treatments were pathogenic to A. diaperinus. Treatment four (T4) showed a significant difference in terms of mortality and was the most effective in inducing mycosis, with 17.71%. In contrast, the other treatments showed lower mycosis values. These findings suggest that B. bassiana has potential for use in future trials under poultry production conditions to control A. diaperinus populations.El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto de la cepa CCB-LE265 de Beauveria bassiana Vuillemin, 1912 en adultos de Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer, 1797) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae). Se recolectaron escarabajos adultos en el centro poblado “San Graciano”, en el distrito de Aucallama, Huaral, Perú. Tras verificar la viabilidad de los conidios, se aplicaron cuatro tratamientos con la cepa CCB-LE265, designados como T1, T2, T3 y T4, cada uno con una concentración de 1 x 107 conidia·mL-1, 2 x 107 conidia·mL-1, 3 x 107 conidia·mL-1, y 4 x 10⁸ conidia·mL-1, respectivamente. Los escarabajos muertos se incubaron durante 21 días para favorecer el crecimiento del micelio y así confirmar si la causa de la mortalidad fue atribuible a B. bassiana. Los resultados indicaron que todos los tratamientos resultaron patógenos para A. diaperinus. El tratamiento cuatro (T4) mostró una diferencia significativa en términos de mortalidad, y fue el más efectivo en inducir micosis, con un 17,71%. En contraste, los otros tratamientos presentaron valores de micosis más bajos. Estos hallazgos sugieren que B. bassiana tiene potencial para ser utilizada en futuros ensayos bajo condiciones de producción avícola, con el fin de controlar poblaciones de A. diaperinus.Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal.
