Sumario: | Acinetobacter spp. is one of the most important bacteria of the group of Gram-negative bacilli non-fermenters (BGNF), opportunistic pathogens for man, which easily acquire antibiotic resistance, compromised as causals of bacteremia, pneumonias and meningitis. This work aims to determine the resistance profile of Acinetobacter spp., with attention to panrresistant, production of extended-spectrum B-lactamases (BLEE) and resistance to imipenem and meropenem. We assessed 58 cultures of Acinetobacter spp, isolated from clinical sources, identified and determined its profile of antibiotic resistance, especially to carbepenemes, by diffusion on disk (Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute [CLSI], 2016) and BLEE (Jarlier et al., 1988). All strains were resistant to cephalosporins: ceftazidime, ceftriaxone and cefotaxime; to betalactamics combined with betalactamase inhibitors: Piperacillin-tazobactam, and amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, in addition to ampicillin; to the Carbapenems: meropenem and imipenem, and also to the fluorquinolone ciprofloxacin, adding to all of them, aztreonam and sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim. To a lesser degree, resistance to aminoglycoside as gentamicin (91%) and amikacin (45%) were manifested; to the fluorquinolone levofloxacin (91%) and finally the tegacicline (45%); strains resistant to colistin were not detected. It is concluded that, the cultures of Acinetobacter spp evaluated, presented the level of Extensive Drug Resistance (XDR) and with great tendency to Pan Drug Resistance (PDR). They did not present BLEE and their resistance to meropenem and imipenem was absolute. |
