It was considered a quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental - transversal design and descriptive scope given that a comparison was made between the two variables to know the differences between both groups. It was carried out in a house with the installation of a photovoltaic system, making use of observation and documentary analysis techniques. The result of the research was that the photovoltaic system is more beneficial in terms of photovoltaic generation and traditional electricity distribution variables because it contributes to environmental protection, it is also a technology that is growing rapidly and does not generate maintenance and consumption costs, except for those generated in the acquisition of materials and installation. Finally, it was concluded that a photovoltaic generation system is the main renewable technology that is significantly reducing its costs, so that they are already very competitive with conventional ones in a growing number of installations.La investigación tiene como objetivo determinar si un sistema fotovoltaico es más beneficioso que un sistema de red eléctrica tradicional para los hogares de alto consumo energético en el distrito de Paiján. Se consideró un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental – transversal y de alcance descriptivo dado a que se realizó un comparativo entre las dos variables para conocer las diferencias entre ambos grupos. Se realizó en una vivienda que cuenta con la instalación de un sistema fotovoltaico, haciendo uso de las técnicas de observación y análisis documental. La investigación tuvo como resultado en cuanto a las variables generación fotovoltaica y distribución eléctrica tradicional que el sistema fotovoltaico en más beneficioso debido a que aporta al cuidado del medio ambiente, asimismo, es una tecnología que está en crecimiento acelerado y no genera costos de mantenimiento y consumo, salvo los generados en adquisición de materiales e instalación.
