This new formal context facilitates the development and consolidation of the Industrial Revolution in Biscay (Basque Country, Spain) during the last three decades of the nineteenth century. This article interprets this change in the mode of production from a legal perspective and seeks a first analysis of the emergence of the new Biscay bourgeoisie within the system of client networks proposed by the Monarchist Restoration.En el periodo de 1868 a 1876, tras la aprobación de la Constitución, se produce en España un complejo proceso de construcción política y legislativa del Estado liberal que supone la desaparición definitiva del “Ancien Régime”, el advenimiento de la sociedad capitalista, y, sobre todo, la transformación de la sociedad española y vizcaína. Este nuevo contexto formal facilita el desarrollo y consolidación de la Revolución Industrial en Vizcaya (País Vasco, España) durante las últimas tres décadas del siglo XIX. El presente artículo interpreta este cambio en el modo de producción desde una perspectiva jurídica y pretende un primer análisis del surgimiento de la nueva burguesía vizcaína dentro del sistema de redes clientelares propuesto por la restauración monárquica.No período de 1868 a 1876, após a aprovação da Constituição, ocorreu na Espanha um complexo processo de construção política e legislativa do Estado liberal, que significou o desaparecimento definitivo do "Ancien Régime", o advento da sociedade capitalista e, sobretudo, a transformação da sociedade espanhola e biscayana. Este novo contexto formal facilitou o desenvolvimento e a consolidação da Revolução Industrial na Biscaia (País Basco, Espanha) durante as últimas três décadas do século XIX.
