The dimensions of management become important given the need to define, delimit and conceptualize the areas of competence in the complex social phenomenon of formal education. On the other hand, foreign language teachers have as competence the application of knowledge to respond to the situations they face in their professional activity. This work is prepared thinking that defining and understanding the concepts of administrative management and teacher performance will promote better educational practices for both the institution and the students.En este artículo se realiza una reflexión sobre la gestión administrativa y el desempeño docente en un centro de idiomas de Lima Metropolitana. Las dimensiones de la gestión cobran importancia ante la necesidad de definir, delimitar y conceptualizar los ámbitos de competencia en el complejo fenómeno social de la educación formal. Por otra parte, el profesor de lengua extranjera tiene como competencias la aplicación de saberes, para dar una respuesta a las situaciones a las que se enfrenta en su actividad profesional.
