Likewise, the text serves as a reference for the teaching community in its search for the application of new active learning strategies that generate in its students formative aspects of a socio-critical nature with respect to their environment.El presente texto forma parte de un trabajo de investigación denominado: “La influencia del ABP en el desarrollo de las habilidades del pensamiento crítico”. Tomando en consideración los principales fundamentos establecidos por Barrows (1982) referente a la metodología ABP, se procede a insertar esta práctica pedagógica como un medio para fomentar las habilidades del PC en los estudiantes de educación superior.
