Sumario:Introduction.There are additional elements related to cardiovascular risk, particularly in the active population, such as the type of work shift and abdominal perimeter. Objetive: It was to determine the relationship between cardiovascular risk and abdominal perimeter in workers with atypical working hours who work at high altitudes in Peru. Materials and Methods: This study had a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional descriptive methodological design. The population consisted of 151 occupational medical examinations of workers from a public institution in the city of Cusco. The technique was data collection from the review of occupational medical examinations and the instrument was designed from the ACC/AHA ASCVD RISK scale, clinical and sociodemographic data were also included in this instrument, it was validated by expert judgment. Results: 72.2% of the workers presented low cardiovascular risk and 27.8% high cardiovascular risk, in addition, the relationship between abdominal perimeter and cardiovascular risk is statistically significant (p=0.019). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between the level cardiovascular risk and abdominal perimeter in workers with atypical working hours who work at high altitudes in Peru.
