As a public university with financial limitations, five of the nine blocks  composing the model were relevant: value proposition, customer segment, customer relationships, key activities, and key resources. Named faculty members from the Department of Systems Engineering and students enrolled in the Professional School of Systems Engineering 2022 software engineering courses were selected to identify the five blocks of the model. Surveys were conducted among faculty members and students to gather information on the current situation, requirements, and expectations regarding creating an academic software factory. The collected data was analyzed using the Canvas model, focusing on the value proposition and identifying differentiating characteristics. The study highlights the importance of applying modern models and standards for software development and quality. In conclusion, the Canvas business model establishes a relationship between the needs and expectations of faculty members and students and the services provided by the software factory.El objetivo de esta investigación fue utilizar el modelo de negocio Canvas para establecer una fábrica de software académica en la Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, Facultad de Ingeniería Industrial y de Sistemas (UNFV-FIIS). Dado que es una universidad pública con limitaciones financieras, se utilizaron cinco de los nueve bloques que componen el modelo: propuesta de valor, segmento de clientes, relaciones con clientes, actividades clave y recursos clave. Para la muestra, se seleccionaron docentes nombrados del Departamento Académico de Ingeniería de Sistemas y estudiantes matriculados en la Escuela Profesional de Ingeniería de Sistemas durante el año 2022 en cursos de Ingeniería de Software para identificar los cinco bloques del modelo. Se realizaron encuestas a los participantes para recopilar información sobre la situación actual, requisitos y expectativas relacionadas con la creación de una fábrica de software académica. Los datos fueron analizados utilizando el modelo Canvas, centrándose en la propuesta de valor y en identificar características diferenciadoras. Se destaca la importancia de aplicar modelos y estándares modernos para el desarrollo y calidad del software.
