However, many of these companies face challenges to generate profitable growth and, therefore, improve the quality of life of their workers and stakeholders. This article examines the actions that a medium-sized engineering company can take in order to generate profitable growth. The research used a quantitative and qualitative case study methodology to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the company and its competitive environment. As a result of the research, four actions are proposed, which would lead to a company’s growth if they are jointly implemented.DOI: https://doi.org/10.26439/ing.ind2020.n038.4817 Las pymes son una pieza fundamental en la economía del Perú, pues representan un gran porcentaje del empleo. Sin embargo, muchas de estas empresas tienen barreras para poder generar crecimiento de manera rentable y, por lo tanto, mejorar la calidad de vida de sus trabajadores y stakeholders. En este artículo se analiza cuáles son las acciones que una empresa mediana de ingeniería puede realizar para generar crecimiento de manera rentable. La metodología aplicada en esta investigación es un estudio de caso donde se han realizado análisis cuantitativos, así como cualitativos, para lograr un entendimiento integral de la empresa y su entorno competitivo.
