For the investigation, we collected articles related to these variables to establish the state of affairs in the specialized literature. We searched for information in two indexed databases, Scopus and ProQuest, and filtered it using inclusion and exclusion criteria derived from the PRISMA method. We identified sixteen scientific journal articles of interest for the investigation at the end of the process. These studies show essential data about the variables described and additional variables that influence uncertainty and that, in some way, impact the preparation of master production schedules in the manufacturing sector.En esta investigación se tocan dos temas relevantes para la ingeniería industrial: los planes maestros de producción (variable dependiente) y la incertidumbre (variable independiente). Esta última se constituye en un factor crítico de impacto en el sector manufactura. Para la investigación se recopilaron artículos científicos relacionados con estas variables con la finalidad de establecer el estado del arte referente al tema. Se recurrió a la búsqueda de información en dos bases indexadas, Scopus y ProQuest, y se la filtró utilizando criterios de inclusión y exclusión mediante el método PRISMA para llegar, finalmente, a contemplar dieciséis artículos de interés para la investigación.
