| Sumario: | Taekwondo in the university context demands innovative pedagogical strategies that optimize the acquisition of complex technical skills through accessible technological tools. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze the contribution of biomechanical analysis as a pedagogical tool to optimize the technical execution of the bandal chagui in university taekwondo students in Ecuador. A quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest measurements was conducted with a sample of 68 university students divided into an experimental group (n=34) and a control group (n=34). Participants were evaluated using the countermovement vertical jump test, the Sit and Reach flexibility test, and visual reaction time. The experimental group received a 12-week intervention based on video-assisted biomechanical analysis using Kinovea software, while the control group continued with conventional training. The results showed that the experimental group significantly improved in jump power, increasing from 34.8 cm to 39.6 cm (p<.001; d=0.66), flexibility, which increased from 24.6 cm to 29.8 cm (p<.001; d=0.73), and reaction time, which decreased from 312.4 ms to 284.6 ms (p<.001; d=0.69). In contrast, the control group showed no significant changes in any variable. The final intergroup comparison revealed relevant differences with moderate to large effect sizes, confirming the effectiveness of the pedagogical intervention. It is concluded that video-assisted biomechanical analysis is an effective pedagogical tool for improving the functional abilities and technical execution of the bandal chagui in Ecuadorian university taekwondo students. |
