description Objective. Determine the relationship between "leadership styles" and "work engagement" of credit analysts in companies in the financial sector in Arequipa, 2020.. Methods. A basic study was carried out, with a correlational scope and a non-experimental-cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 268 credit analysts and the non-probabilistic sampling was used to establish the sample that was set at 253 credit analysts. The technique used was the survey and the instruments were the CELID-A questionnaire and the UWES scale. Results. The results show that the transactional leadership style is significantly related to a high level of "work engagement" (p-value = 0.00). Laissez faire leadership style is significantly related to a low level of "work engagement" (0.01) and transformational leadership style is not related to "work engagement" (0.13). Conclution. There is a relationship between “leadership styles” and “work engagement” of credit analysts in companies in the financial sector.

El objetivo fue determinar cómo se relacionan los “estilos de liderazgo” y el “engagement laboral” de los analistas de crédito en las empresas del sector financiero en Arequipa, 2020. Métodos. Se realizó un estudio básico, con un alcance correlacional y un diseño no experimental-transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 268 analistas de crédito y se utilizó el muestreo no probabilístico para establecer la muestra que quedó fijada en 253 analistas de crédito. La técnica es la encuesta y los instrumentos son el cuestionario CELID-A y la escala UWES. Resultados. Los resultados demuestran que el estilo de liderazgo transaccional se relaciona significativamente  con un nivel de “engagement laboral” alto (p-valor = 0,00). El estilo de liderazgo Laissez faire se relaciona significativamente con un nivel de “engagement laboral” bajo (0,01) y el estilo de liderazgo transformacional no se relaciona con el “engagement laboral” (0,13). Conclusiones. Existe relación entre los “estilos de liderazgo” y el “engagement laboral” de los analistas de crédito en las empresas del sector financiero. Objetivo. O objetivo era determinar como os "estilos de liderança" e o "compromisso de trabalho" dos analistas de crédito estão relacionados em empresas do setor financeiro em Arequipa, 2020. Métodos. Foi realizado um estudo básico, com um escopo correlacional e um projeto não-experimental-transversal. A população consistia de 268 analistas de crédito e a amostragem não-probabilística foi utilizada para estabelecer a amostra, que foi fixada em 253 analistas de crédito. A técnica utilizada foi a pesquisa e os instrumentos foram o questionário CELID-A e a escala UWES. Resultados. Os resultados mostram que o estilo de liderança transacional está significativamente relacionado a um alto nível de "compromisso de trabalho" (p-valor = 0,00). O estilo de liderança Laissez faire está significativamente relacionado a um baixo nível de engajamento no trabalho (0,01) e o estilo de liderança transformacional não está relacionado ao engajamento no trabalho (0,13). Conclusão.
