description This research aims to conduct an analysis of transversality as a curriculum theory based on the relationship between education and transversality in the curriculum, as well as some considerations on transdisciplinarity in secondary education. The process began with a review of texts related to the topic to be developed, searching for relationships between these aspects and their implications in the Venezuelan educational reality. Transversal axes have an impact on pedagogical practice by vitalizing the educational process, facilitating the integration of contents from an inter and transdisciplinary perspective. Due to the effects of globalization, the learning subject has access to a vast amount of information, which can lead to the trivialization of the learning that must be acquired in education. It is necessary to adopt educational models that are more in line with the current reality and the motivations of young people and adolescents, aiming for a more relevant, quality education.

El proceso se inició con una revisión de textos relacionados con el tema a desarrollar, la búsqueda de relaciones entre esos aspectos y cuáles serían sus implicaciones en la realidad educativa venezolana. Los ejes transversales repercuten en la práctica pedagógica vitalizando el proceso educativo, facilitando la imbricación de los contenidos desde lo inter y transdiciplinario. Por efectos de la globalización, el sujeto de aprendizaje tiene a su disposición mucha información, lo cual puede ocasionar la banalización de los aprendizajes que han de adquirirse en la formación. Es necesario la adopción de modelos educativos más cónsonos con la realidad actual y con las motivaciones de los jóvenes y adolescentes, con miras a una educación más pertinente, de calidad.Esta investigação se propôs a realizar uma análise da transversalidade como teoria curricular a partir da relação educação - transversalidade no currículo e algumas considerações sobre a transdisciplinaridade no ensino médio. O processo começou com uma revisão de textos relacionados ao tema a ser desenvolvido, a busca de relações entre esses aspectos e quais seriam suas implicações na realidade educacional venezuelana. Os eixos transversais têm impacto na prática pedagógica, vitalizando o processo educativo, facilitando a sobreposição dos conteúdos da inter e transdisciplinaridade. Devido aos efeitos da globalização, o sujeito da aprendizagem tem muitas informações à sua disposição, o que pode ocasionar a banalização do aprendizado a ser adquirido na formação.
