Next, the terms that give rise to the links between the oral and written records are investigated, to then identify what they communicate or suggest, in order to understand the world they create and the challenges they face. The method employed prioritizes ethnographic and interpretive approaches to approximate the various levels ofmeaning and "interpret the interpreted." The conclusions indicate, on the one hand, that the oral source is the greatest device of collective memory, as it unites generations to make them endure over time. El trabajo presenta una aproximación al estudio del matrimonio en el registro oral del Perú altoandino y tiene como propósito elaborar una exégesis de las mediaciones y alcances de la fuente oral: el matrimonio del atoq o zorro con la moza en la sociedad quechua. A continuación, se indagan los términos que dan lugar a los vínculos del registro oral con el escrito, para pasar a identificar luego qué comunican o sugieren, para comprender el mundo que crean y los asola. El método empleado privilegia la aproximación etnográfica e interpretativa para aproximar a los diversos niveles de significación e “interpretar lo interpretado”.
