The sample comprised 58 students from Gran Unidad Escolar Leoncio Prado of Huánuco, 30 for experimental group and 28 for control group. Prior parents or guardians’ consent. An observation guide was applied to measure the influence of reading images in the production of texts written in English. This guide was previously validated. The hypothesis was verified using the Wilcoxon test, considering a p <= 0.05. In addition, ethical considerations were taken into account. Results. In the entrance test, the percentages for development of text production are similar in both experimental and control groups, with 90 % and 93 % respectively. In the exit test, on the contrary, the experimental group managed to develop text production in 87 %, and the control group 7 %. This indicates that the experimental group managed to improve their results significantly. Conclusion. Results demonstrated that students developed a reading of images capacity for production of texts in 87 %. Therefore, reading of images significantly influences the production of texts written in English.

Demostrar la influencia de la lectura de imágenes en la producción de textos escritos en inglés en los estudiantes de cuarto grado de secundaria de la Gran Unidad Escolar Leoncio Prado de Huánuco. Método. Se desarrolló un estudio experimental, con enfoque cuantitativo y diseño cuasi experimental. La muestra fueron 58 estudiantes de la Gran Unidad Escolar Leoncio Prado de Huánuco, 30 para el grupo experimental y 28 para el grupo control; quienes previo consentimiento de sus padres o apoderados, se les aplicó una guía de observación de la influencia de la lectura de imágenes en la producción de textos escritos en inglés; la cual fue previamente validados. La comprobación de hipótesis fue mediante la prueba de Wilcoxon, considerando un p <= 0,05. Además, se tuvieron en cuenta las consideraciones éticas del caso. Resultados. En la prueba de entrada los porcentajes para el desarrollo de la producción de textos fueron similares en ambos grupos, experimental y de control, con 90 % y 93 % respectivamente. En la prueba de salida, por el contrario, el grupo experimental logró desarrollar la producción de textos en un 87 %, con respecto al grupo de control, con un 7 %, esto nos indicó que el grupo experimental logró mejorar sus resultados significativamente. Conclusión. La lectura de imágenes desarrolló en los estudiantes la capacidad de producción de textos en un 87 %, así lo demostraron los resultados. Por lo tanto, la lectura de imágenes influye significativamente en la producción de textos escritos en inglésObjetivo. Foi desenvolvido um estudo experimental, com uma abordagem quantitativa e um projeto quase experimental. A amostra consistiu de 58 alunos da Gran Unidad Escolar Leoncio Prado de Huánuco, 30 para o grupo experimental e 28 para o grupo de controle, que, com o consentimento de seus pais ou responsáveis, receberam um guia de observação sobre a influência da leitura de imagens na produção de textos escritos em inglês, que foi previamente validado. As hipóteses foram testadas usando o teste Wilcoxon, considerando uma p <= 0,05. Além disso, as considerações éticas do caso foram levadas em consideração. Resultados. No teste de entrada, as porcentagens para o desenvolvimento da produção de texto foram semelhantes em ambos os grupos, experimental e de controle, com 90% e 93% respectivamente. No teste de saída, ao contrário, o grupo experimental conseguiu desenvolver a produção de textos em 87%, com relação ao grupo de controle, com 7%, isso indicou que o grupo experimental conseguiu melhorar significativamente seus resultados. Conclusão. A leitura das imagens desenvolveu a capacidade dos alunos de produzir textos em 87%, como os resultados mostraram.
