Since then, capitalism has been heading for new accumulation fronts. This fact is explained by David Harvey (1989), when referring to the space-time transfer of capital as a way of absorbing the movement of super-accumulation. This phenomenon, associated with the growth, in the central countries, of the part of income destined for wages, pushed capitalist production out of its previous domains. Alternatively, these countries made use of the introduction of new production technologies in order to reverse this process.Al inicio de la década de los 70, el sistema fordista de producción entró en crisis, acentuada por el primer "shock" del petróleo en 1973. El capitalismo se enrumba, desde entonces, a la búsqueda de nuevos frentes de acumulación. Este hecho es explicado por David Harvey (1989), al referirse al traslado espacio-temporal del capital como forma de absorver el movimiento de superacumulación. Este fenómeno, asociado al crecimiento, en los países centrales, de la parte de la renta destinada a los salarios, impulsó la producción capitalista hacia afuera de sus dominios anteriores.
