At the moment, these experiences are only aimed at the vernacular-speaking rural population and, unfortunately, there are still no attempts at Quechua-Spanish education for the bilingual or monolingual Spanish-speaking urban population. This distinction seems important to us in the discussion that we will develop, since it is closely linked to the use of the Quechua alphabet.Desde épocas recientes el "problema" de la escritura en quechua está nuevamente sobre el tapete y esto se debe al hecho de que la educación indígena va tomando también un rumbo diferente dado el avance, si bien lento cada vez mayor, de experiencias educativas que hacen uso de esta lengua como vehículo de educación. Estas experiencias por el momento sólo se dirigen a la población rural vernáculo-hablante y, lamentablemente, no hay todavía intentos de educación quechua-castellano para población urbana bilingüe o monolingüe hispano-hablante.
