A cultural area is a spatial entity within which societies show some similarity or a number of common significant aspects. American anthropology has therefore tried to establish a kind of "maps" on the distribution of traits, groups of traits or cultural complexes in order to determine the centers of cultural diffusion and its route (Cf. Wissler C., 1926; Kroeber H.L., 1939).Existe un abanico infinito de culturas, pueblos, tribus, áreas culturales, etnias y etnicidades, y esta realidad antropológica ha planteado a la humanidad, desde el inicio de los tiempos, el problema de aceptarnos diferentes. Un área cultural es una entidad espacial en cuyo seno las sociedades muestran cierta similitud o un número de aspectos significativos comunes. La antropología americana ha tratado por ello de establecer una especie de "mapas" sobre la distribución de rasgos, grupos de rasgos o complejos culturales para poder determinar los centros de difusión cultural y su recorrido (Cf.
