There are no epidemiological studies that inform us about it.La reproducción humana, es un fenómeno trascendente en la perpetuación de la vida y trascendente también en cuanto a sus implicancias sociales y humanas. De acuerdo a estimados, se considera que en una población existe 10 a 15% del total de parejas que no pueden cumplir este rol. No sabemos si en países en desarrollo, o mejor dicho subdesarrollados, países en donde las condiciones sociales y económicas tienen íntima relación con los niveles de nutrición, educación, vivienda, saneamiento ambiental, salud (especialmente en cuanto a presencia de enfermedades infecciosas), el porcentaje de parejas infértiles es mayor.
