This approach, however, does not invalidate its clinical and social significance, because depending on the study area may be the first or second cause of death for women 25-34 years old; in many developing countries that have this information (Rayston, 1977), paradoxically from an epidemiological point of view, they would be less risky age.Al tomar el máximo riesgo de la vida para apreciar posibilidades de daño durante la gestación y el período perinatal, se va a medir riesgos adicionales al del embarazo en sí. Por esta razón se acepta que la mortalidad materna es también un índice de riesgo y de calidad de atención en relación a recursos, coberturas, niveles y preparación profesional.
