It is concluded that the scope and type of service given to these mothers is adequate in regard to the prevention of major illness during pregnancy, delivery and puerperium but can not control the incidence of gynecologic complications that seems to be important to determinate te high rate (35.7%) neonatal mortality observed in the study.El "Centro de Salud" de la Magdalena, se preocupa por un sector de la población del distrito de Magdalena, una parte de la gran Lima. La tasa de mortalidad materna para el distrito de Magdalena del 7 por 10000 es bajo comparado con el de gran Lima 15,6 por 10.000. El estudio informó intentos para obtener conocimientos acerca de la eficacia del programa de atención prenatal del Centro de Salud a través de una encuesta a una muestra de la población cubierta por este servicio.
