The percentage of patients who discontinued treatment were influenced mainly by age, similarity and the desire for future pregnancies.Una evaluación clínica comparativa de un amplio programa contraceptivo que empezó en 1964 en las Areas de Salud del Norte y Occidente de Santiago, se hizo usando métodos teóricos de vida hasta 36 meses de uso. Lippes-D Loop fueron insertados intermenstrualmente a 14,579 mujeres; dispositivo TCu-200 (solamente 12 meses de uso) a 350 mujeres; Acetato de Medroxiprogesterona fue aplicado intramuscularmente en dosis de 150 mg. cada 3 meses a 561 mujeres, y 300 mg. cada 6 meses a 588.
