Sumario:The article addresses the issue of prison reform and the treatment of offenders, criticizing the media distortion of prison reality and the lack of deep understanding of the causes of problems in Peruvian prisons. Based on this, the author emphasizes the importance of adopting a progressive and multidisciplinary approach in prison policy, considering national particularities and promoting the resocialization of inmates as a central objective. Furthermore, it criticizes journalistic sensationalism and advocates for a more responsible approach in media coverage. Additionally, the article highlights the importance of the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules and national legislation on penal execution as reference frameworks for prison reform.
